Silver Green

Silver Green, or Jade Green depending on the company catalog or advertisement, was the second most popular color in Hostessware, accounting for almost 20% of found pieces. With its light blue-green hue, it universally complements all the other colors (it even looks good with Apricot!). Silver Green was one of the original Hostessware glazes, with production starting with the line in 1932.

Depending on lighting, Silver Green and Aqua can be easily confused in photographs, as the Aqua glaze is very close in hue. However, Aqua is much less commonly found, so chances are you’re seeing Green!

The Decorated Hostessware photos at the bottom of the image grid are poorly lit and do not accurately reflect the true glaze color. The standard items provide a good representation of the actual color.
