I created a fabric based on Marc Bellaire’s Bird Isle design, adapting the look and feel of the original into a repeat pattern for textile use. Bellaire’s work has a very recognizable mid-century character, with loose, stylized forms, decorative birds, and a strong sense of movement across the surface. I wanted the fabric to keep that spirit while functioning as its own design, with the birds, branches, and color arranged in a way that feels natural as a yardage pattern.

The result is a fabric that reflects the charm of the original artwork. It has the same light, decorative quality that makes Bird Isle so appealing, but translated into something works for pillows, upholstery, curtains, or other home projects.
